Hi
I am Thomas Haney. As a military kid, I grew up in over 6 different states ranging from as cold as Connecticut to as tropical as Hawaii. If was fun, but also tough at times learning to make new friends and figuring out who I was, when I did not always live around my own culture. I am so grateful for all of the men, that God raised up to POUR into my life and help shape who I am today. At age 12, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. In April of 2007, I was baptized and made a decision to be "All in" for Jesus. My life since has been filled with joy, adventure, and discovery.
The Lord has put a passion on my heart to see young people grow, aspire, and launch into their God given destinies. I would say I am the founder of POUR, but it was and is a team effort. God trusted me with the vision, but it was the combined faith and actions of others that brought it to pass. Thank you to all who have put their hand to the plow. May the abundant blessings of God overtake your lives in Jesus Name! Get your cups ready and let's continue to POUR!
Vision
To pour into the next generation of manhood by teaching, training, equipping and challenging the young men to live as men of God according to the word of God.
Mission
Our Mission is to provide an example of authentic manhood, impart wisdom vital to the spiritual and natural battle every man is born into, and to challenge young men to for Christ and intentionally impact their communities.
In 2016, the Lord put an idea on my heart, for a three day Summer Challenge Camp called POUR. It was geared toward ages 12-18 and consisted of mental, physical, and spiritual teachings and challenges. The format was designed to create an environment for the men of Refreshing Lives Church (New Bern, NC) to connect with the young men of the community and share vital wisdom and insights from their life experiences. The first year was a huge success. In 2017, we brought it back. This time with a 40ft inflatable obstacle course that had an attached pool. It was awesome. (Yes I went through it too).
At one point, I stepped away to take care of some admin items and when I returned. All the young men were in the back of the pool engaged and listening to every word as one of our Elders spoke. At that moment I knew we had achieved something special: A connection point. A place where the older men were pouring out wisdom and where the young men were open to receiving it. That is the vision for POUR. The organization, the camps, the web series are all intended to be a conduit that bridges the gap across generations.
I believe as we continue to POUR we will see a new generation of young men raised up equipped to take on any challenge life throws at them and make a difference in their communities.
